“After having my son in Amsterdam, I experienced a Dutch kraamzorg come into my home and care for me in the first 8 days of my motherhood journey. As a health and wellbeing standard, provided through health insurance new mothers receive practical support at home after birth from trained and qualified care assistants, doulas and health visitors. When I returned to the UK, I realised that support simply doesn't exist here in the same way, or available to families that need it most.
Poepar connects families with qualified postpartum professionals—doulas, lactation consultants, practical household support and osteopaths—through one unique platform, making it easier for parents to get the help they need during the weeks following birth. We are working towards a subsidised service through investors, donors and partnerships to ensure all families across the UK get this service”
